It is such a pleasure and honour to be back at PT ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL.  This year I will be teaching Class 26 in the newest block in our school together with Mrs Ash and Class 25.  We are a New Entrants class and we are very excited about learning.

Soccer with Juan

In Room 8 we enjoy playing soccer (football).  Listen as Sheena shares her recount about football with Juan.  Well done Sheena, keep up the good work.

The Samoan alphabet

Did you know that there are 17 letters in the Samoan alphabet.  Watch as the talented children from Room 8 teach us about the Samoan alphabet.  Take it away Tamaiiti (children).

Pt England Beach Trip

On Friday 18th February we had a whole school picnic at Pt England Beach.  We had such an amazing time playing in the warm sand, swimming in the cool waters, watching our singing stars on the microphone and enjoying each others company.  Here are some photos of our fun-filled day.

Loud Shirt Day

Loud Shirt Day held on Friday September 21, 2012 is the annual appeal to support deaf kids.
This year the theme was Hawaiian, and Mrs Tuala and the Room 8 students were very excited about dressing up to support a worthy cause.  Check out some of the photos taken on Loud Shirt Day.

What's happening in Maths?

This week Room 8 are learning about Measurement.  Today we looked at measuring the length of things around the classroom using non-standard units.  It was a lot of fun.  Check out our movie then please leave a comment.

Welcome to 2012!

Happy New Year Everyone! School has started here in New Zealand and Room 8 has some new faces and some faces you would of recognized from last year. We are excited about sharing our work on our blog this year and we look forward to seeing your comments - because your feedback is valuable to us. We wish everyone a great year ahead for 2012.

 

Our Trip to Ambury Farm

On Tuesday 29th March, the team 2 classes at our school went on a trip to Ambury Farm. The weather was lovely and warm, and we had a fantastic time learning about farm animals. We had to remember to use 'The Pt England Way', like using our manners, putting our rubbish in the bin and walking sensibly around the farm. Here is a slideshow showing some of the cool things we did and saw. At the moment we are working on our recount stories of our farm trip, so watch this space. Self Portraits

In Art this term we have been focussing on Self Portraits. First we practiced many times pencil drawings of our face. Next we used a black felt to go over the outline then we coloured in our self portraits with crayon. Finally we dyed the background. We had alot of fun creating our Self Portraits. Building Report

Room 8 visited the building site to see what progress had been made with the building project. Read Kashya's progress report.



This morning we went for a walk to see the super duper Dental Clinic. It was different because the builders put the floor on. I saw the floor half done.
Then we went to the hall and I saw a man with a broom. He was in the hall sweeping. I saw an electric pump. The man told us that the pump was getting the water out. I could hear the pump, pump, pumping.
